Instead, he's another name the Dolphins can scratch off their list of candidates.
McAdoo on Tuesday accepted an offer from the New York Giants to become the team's offensive coordinator. The news of McAdoo's hiring comes as a surprise, as earlier in the day he had interviewed for the same position with the Dolphins. McAdoo was believed to have the inside track to the Miami gig thanks to his relationship with Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin, with whom he served under in Green Bay during Philbin's time as Packers offensive coordinator.
McAdoo was Packers tight ends coach for six seasons before he became the team's offensive coordinator in 2012.
In the wake of McAdoo's hiring, it's time for the Dolphins to hunker down and find their offensive coordinator. Then again, maybe they already have.
