The Miami Dolphins beat the Cleveland Browns 23-10. Miami was led by a relentless defense and good decision making from second year quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The Miami Dolphins put away the game against the Cleveland Browns with 10 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, coming away with the 23-10 win.

The Dolphins don't come out of this game without some things to fix, especially with the offensive line needing to provide better protection to quarterback Ryan Tannehill and find a way to open up running lanes for Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas.  Although, to be fair, the Browns have a very strong run defense, so it's not overly surprising that Miami struggled against it.

The important part of this game was simply coming away with the win.  The Dolphins start this season with three of their first five games on the road, with the two home games against the Atlanta Falcons and the  Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens.  With that rough schedule to start, the team had to start it with a win today.  They pulled that off.

The Miami defense was dominating, especially in the second half.  They recorded five sacks, with Cameron Wake tallying 2.5 of those.  Randy Starks recorded another 1.5, with Derrick Shelby adding one.  Dion Jordan got to Brandon Weeden as well, but he was called for a facemask on the play.

The Dolphins had 16 quarterback hits on the day.

Dimitri Patterson grabbed two Weeden passes, while Nolan Carroll also came away with an interception.

Brian Hartline led the Miami receivers with nine receptions for 114 yards and a touchdown.  Brandon Gibson added seven receptions for 77 yards with Charles Clay pulling in five passes for 54 yards.  Mike Wallace had one catch for 15 yards.

Ryan Tannehill finished the day 24-for-38 for 272 yards, with the one touchdown and one interception.  He had an 82.3 passer rating.

The running game's struggles saw the team average just 0.9 yards per carry, led by Daniel Thomas' 14 yards on 8 carries.  But, the game sealing touchdown came on a one yard dive from Thomas into the endzone.  Lamar Miller had 10 carries for just three yards.

Rookie kicker Caleb Sturgis was 3-for-3 on the day, connecting from 45-, 49-, and 36-yards.  Punter Brandon Fields punted five times, with a 53.8 yard per kick average.

The Dolphins now return home to Miami before traveling next weekend to face the Indianapolis Colts in Indiana.

Enjoy the win here, using this as a celebration thread as well as a live thread for the afternoon games.
