Was yesterday's first-degree murder charge just the tip of the iceberg for Aaron Hernandez? - USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Globe's Ben Volin this morning confirmed that former Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is currently being investigated in connection with a 2012 double murder that occurred in Boston.

It just keeps getting better for Aaron Hernandez.

The Boston Globe's Ben Volin this morning confirmed that the former Patriots tight end is now being investigated in connection with a July 2012 double murder that occurred in Boston. The news of the investigation comes just one day after Hernandez was charged with the first-degree murder of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-pro football player.

According to ProFootballTalk, the incident report states that local police found three shooting victims at the intersection of Shawmut Avenue and Herald Street in Boston at 2 a.m. on July 16, 2012. Two of the victims, Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu, died. Per the report, witnesses said persons in a gray or silver SUV with Rhode Island license plates opened fire.

In addition to first-degree murder, Hernandez was also charged with one count of carrying a firearm without a license, two counts of possessing a large-capacity firearm, and two counts of possessing a firearm without a firearm ID card.
