I read through the post here pretty much everyday and I hear over and over again that we need to make this trade or this trade as a replacement for Martin. I understand that JI and JP have been looking to fill either the right or the left side with a veteran player. My queston is what is it that they're seeing in him that has made this a must need. I mean has he truly been given the chance to play LT. Maybe they've seen enough in Practice reps or game tape last year that's left them insecure about him covering Tannehill's blind side.
I know they put him in for Long when he was hurt. But how many of us has had to go back and play a new positon or do an job at work that we haven't performed in a while. I can only speak for myself, but it usually takes a little bit to get back in the groove. Now imagine trying to do this at an NFL level and doing your best to remember everything and at the same time trying not to screw up.
Also if do recall Martin was a top 10 prospect at one time and dropped to us in the second round. (IMO a steal) He's a smart kid and has the talent to play LT. Not to mention he seems to have taken the off season seriously and added some well needed bulk. So, what do you guys think, can Martin handle the task of LT or are we headed for a long season with him covering Tannehills blind side????? Do we need to give him a chance or is a veteran on the left side a definite need???? Thoughts???? BTW, my first post, any corrective crititicsm is greatly appreciated. br />
