I am an eternal optimist when it comes to the Dolphins...several years to my detriment, however this coming season seems to be tipping my opto scale pretty high. Looking at the big picture without throwing out names or positions of new players, gone players and vets my meter is tipping because:
Our team has been taking a beating for several years and the bottom line is...drum roll...obviously not scoring enough touchdowns and takeaways. Last season we lost several games by a few points...if won would have put us in the playoffs. This season we have what many would consider a great receiving corps. Thill has been working hard this off season to correct his mistakes and I believe he will be a much better qb...the o-line is still in question but seems to have great potential. Bottom line should equal mort TDs.
the d looks to be vastly improved IMO - the line is strong and fast...getting to the qb should be an improvement. Line backers and defensive backs IMO again should not allow the high number of long completions that killed us last year. This should equal more turn overs in the form of ints. There are...what 93 guys who would die to make this roster which means they will give 100% every play or they will not make the 53 man roster.
In conclusion...in my book all the things I've mentioned should make for a very productive year for the Miami dolphins...barring the unforeseen.
