Adam Schefter Reports that the Cowboys have begun talks to sign Eric Winston.

This is interesting since the Cowboys run a man-blocking scheme while Winston's best years were in the zone-blocking scheme run by the Houston Texans, but regardless, it looks like the Cowboys made signing Winston their current priority. If the Dolphins still have interest in Winston and were merely playing hardball before in previous negotiations, we should be hearing about the Dolphins making calls to Winston's agent to make competing bids in the next couple of days. Otherwise, Dallas should be able to sign Winston without much in terms of competition, since the only other team with serious interest in Winston was the Philadelphia Eagles. UPDATE: ProFootball Talk backs Schefter's report, while a local beat reporter claims talks haven't started.
