With the draft fast approaching, I thought I'd look at players that either are, or might become, expendable that could bring something in return. Here are my top 5 Dolphin players that could be traded during or after the draft and what I'd want in return for them if we were to let them go:
1) Davone Bess
: I love Bess, but it seems we are moving away from him already. With 3 receivers ahead of him in the depth chard and Rishard Matthews
breathing down his neck along with the possible drafting of another WR, he seems expendable. What I'd want for Bess: A starting caliber Offensive Lineman or a 3rd/4th round draft pick.
2) Richie Incognito
: Simply because he doesn't fit our scheme. I kind of like the somewhat dirty, very physical guard. He looks to be gone next year anyway. What I'd want: A nickle corner / a better fit on the offensive line or a 5th/6th round pick.
3) Randy Starks
: He is probably our best defensive player (aside from Wake), but is in a position of strength and with several good DT's available during the draft and Odrick ready to move into that spot if needed this year, he is expendable. What I'd want: A staring offensive tackle / a starting level corner or safety or a 2nd-3rd round draft pick.
4) Paul Solai: Same as Starks. What I'd want: Same as Starks.
5) Koa Misi: Simply not a great fit for a 4-3 in my opinion. Think he is easily replaceable. I love some of the ILB's in this draft that may fall all the way into the 2nd round. What I'd want: A starting offensive lineman, slot WR, nickle DB or 3rd/4th round pick.
What do you guys think?
