Going into the off season I thought there were some major holes that needed to be filled.
The Dolphins needed to upgrade the WR position. Get help for the secondary, a pass rusher.
Mission accomplished. Jeff Irelard did his job. Managing the cap and making some
trades to acquire extra picks and then using the extra picks to trade up in the first round.
The NFL is all the about the offense so common though was when the Dolphins
traded up they were going to draft Lane Johnson. When the pick was announceed
I was stunned. But after thinking it though I liked the pick. Getting a quality pass
rusher to team withe Wake is going to be amazing to watch this coming season.
With a strong pass rush can make up for weak secondary if the QB is
being pressured on a constant basis. With a strong free agency period
I felt there needed to be a strong draft to complement the free
agent signings. I give the Dolphins overall off season grade a
B+. Looking forward to the 2013 Dolphins season.
