All except for Vince Lombardi. Going out on top is hard to do.

******************** This pains me to write *********************

Coaches are the worst when it comes to knowing when to calling it a career, they don't know when to hang it up either. They ride the skirts of there top players, till the light truly dims. I read an interesting peace about "Don Shula" & how his (84), draft really stunk up the place. He had "His Man" & he had (Woodly's) super-bowl team in place.

Heck he didn't need any one's opinion on how to win a Super-Bowl, He was the only one that carried the winingest team, to SuperBowl & win it. He was starting to have doubts, he was starting to touch himself around his mouth more & more. Heck he was fitted for a "set of specks" (glasses) in 1984, saying that the near sighted-ness was taking over. Me i think it was the fact that he new what he had with commitments already in place he was being stretched to his limits.

That's all good & well, but my reading wasn't as sharp as it once was. Sometimes when a coach is asked how they can handle the coaching & bringing up a family, (bottom line) its not easy & it's never easy. This is where all the conceit & complacency, came in the self satisfaction. Oh but it's easier if you can cut out the studying for new players, on a "superbowl team" that's already in place. Might of been the thinking?

Oh Suit em up & grind them through another year "compleatly exhaustive" of the resources at hand, as they were still elite. Yet there was "no replenishing of core" after is what meet a (young Marino). But did not Miami let John Riggins just demoralize the defense, in the Woodly SuperBowl. And just remembering that game, gave me a slight headache. I could never be a coach & i truely respected Don Shula.

To much coaching is bad? I'm not sure if there's such a thing, but every-thing that i've been accustomed too that haveing a job, being good at that job, had better come easy. I used to watch a fan fav. Zack Thomas, this is a man to copy a career after, he used to say that training 8 hours a day is a must. 2-3 in the gym, 5-6 on reviewing the tape's. But always divide it up, mostly in Moderation is always a good thing.
