The #Dolphins are on board with the parameters of a contract with Branden Albert. They are ready to pay him elite LT money.— Armando Salguero (@ArmandoSalguero) April 24, 2013
Per Steve Wyche of NFL Network, Miami is the only team involved in trade talks with the Chiefs regarding Albert. Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Chiefs are asking for pick #42, but the Dolphins (so far) refuse to offer higher than pick #54. As I wrote in my article examining the trade dynamics, the Chiefs very much want an early second round pick to replace one of the draft picks they lost by trading for Alex Smith. The Dolphins appear to be waiting for the Chiefs to budge on that demand and accept our late round pick. With no other teams involved in discussions, Ireland shouldn't feel pressured to cave on this.
