Alright I'll be dead honest, the draft is really not my specialty, I watch zero college ball, and all I know about these guys are what the analysts of ESPN and NFL Network have said, plus what you all have been saying about these college men...and even with all that being said, I'm gonna put in my two cents anyway...why? Well...I'm bored. Heh, nothing really going on until the draft day I guess.
With the 12th pick of the 2013 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select...
Ever since I heard our former pass rush specialist Jason Taylor (good ol' JT) rave about how he and Dion Jordan are so much alike, maybe even Jordan having more ability than he did coming out of college, I've been a huge fan of this kid. Look I know how controversial the competency of anyone associated with ESPN is...but come on guys, it's JASON TAYLOR! We didn't think he was stupid when he was on the team, we shouldn't switch it because he got a job with ESPN.
And let's face it, it isn't like JT doesn't know what he's talking about, he's talking about being a pass-rusher, that's what he was, he's not evaluating a running back or anything. Dion Jordan is quick, athletic, he's not the biggest guy in the world, but he never quits on a play...sounds familiar doesn't it? It should.
We need a pass-rusher opposite Cameron Wake, and Dion Jordan fits the bill. In a recent article of mine I explained how pressure makes Tom Brady tap dance, if we can have Cam Wake and Dion Jordan attacking from both ends, I can already smell the sweat dripping down Brady's forehead.
I'd add more rounds, but I'm just not good at this. I would be willing to give a mid-round chance on Tyrann Mathieu, poor kid needs support from a team, and we need a corner. Worst case scenario is that we lost our second 2nd rounder or 3rd rounder on a chance. The only other guy I really want is Marcus Lattimore at RB, I guess I'm just a softy...well, that's all I gotta say. I want a pass-rusher, THIS pass-rusher. Because the guy in the above picture likes him.
