Remaining FA Signings:
NOTE: The Miami Dolphins have $16,490,600 in remaining cap space
1. Elvis Dumerville: 11 sacks and 6 forced fumbles in 2012 … To add a little clarity, his numbers mirrored Demarcus Ware (Dumerville was a half a sack behind and 1 forced fumble ahead.)
4 years $45m. - 17m Guaranteed
2013 - $8m
2014 - $9m
2015 - $12m
2016 - $16m
2. Eric Winston: Average in pass protection and above average in run blocking. I'll take it for now. Can't address everything in one offseason. He might get beat out in camp. But he fits and worse case scenario, he adds depth.
3 years $16 - $9m Guaranteed
2013 - $5.3m
2014 - $5.3m
2015 - $5.3m
(My train of thought so far: The only FA available that's even worth a look is Vollmer and I don't think we will be able to sign him for $7m or less. That's the number I'm not willing to exceed after Dumerville left us with only $8.49m to spend in 2013. Chris Gamble retired and The Dolphins let all the other CBs that where worth a look sign elsewhere.
Also, I've always been bothered Richie Incognito. Always thought he was dirty. The way he treated Egnew on Hard Knocks last year didn't sit well with me, even if Egnew is a female dog. Now his resign Jake Long twitter antics, while they didn't bother me, may have been an issue with the coaching staff and front office, especially one that wants to see Jonathan Martin gain confidence. We all know they have low tolerance for anything that is even remotely unprofessional. I know he's our only other true veteran presence on the offensive line but if anyone we draft shows promise, or another team cuts a solid veteran, don't be surprised to see him get shown the door. Especially since it would add about 4m to the cap)
