Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE

According to a report today, the Miami Dolphins have officially set a release date for their new logo. The team has been hinting at a possible change, or flat out admitting to it, for nearly a year now. Finally, we will have an answer.

The Miami Dolphins have set a release date for the new team logo and uniform, according to the Palm Beach Post's Ben Volin. In an event scheduled for April 18, 2013, the team will unveil the new look heading into the 2013 NFL season. What that event will be, and what the logo will be, are still unknown.

The date is exactly one week prior to the NFL Draft in New York.

The new logo has been a closely guarded secret by the Dolphins organization, with very few people getting a chance to see the team's future look. That has not slowed speculation, however, with hundreds, if not thousands, of possibilities and "leaked" versions of the logo springing up on the internet.

Most of the speculation for the new logo surrounds this "leaked" possibility:

The team has denied it, but the rumors and speculation continue to swirl around it, at least as it being a draft version of the final logo. Of course, no one knows for sure.

But, we will see the final version one month from today.
