Good morning, while most of you American types are still snoozing in bed I thought I'd have a go at putting up my very own Fanpost. Hopefully you can be kind about my limited knowledge of FA, cap numbers etc.

Today I would like, (and this is a big ask), to see Long/Winston, Grimes and why not lets say it, make a play for Dumervil.

While I am not entirely sure what our cap numbers are at the moment, I'll leave that to Martin to figure out - I know these signings will push us pretty close to the limit of what we have available. However, Ireland has made some good decisions so far which has opened up our available cap space this year to probably more useable cash than initially appeared.

If you look at my idea a little closer, there are probably only a couple of extra signings there. If we hired Grimes I think most of that could be covered by releasing either Patterson or Marshall, but which one? The obvious choice would be Patterson but that would leave two fairly good CB's who are both coming off injury. Or release Marshall who is probably the better player but we would have at least one healthy CB prior to draft.

Winston will also probably be a couple of mil or so cheaper than Long so would that be worth pursuing in order to sign Dumervil?

Obviously, I'm dreaming a little bit here and this would be the ideal scenario but over all I'm pretty pleased with what Ireland has achieved so far, he is building a team rather than a collection of high level individuals and I think this FA opens up the draft to sign players who have higher ceilings but may take a year or two to develop.

Any thoughts on these ideas? How did my first proper Fanpost sound!
