The last 36 hours or so of free agency have been kind of crazy for Miami. Here's what I believe. Jeff Ireland clearly had a few guys he was willing to pay top dollar to day 1.
I think after that, all the other agents and players figured Miami was their payday. Players Ireland maybe wasn't as interested in came out of the woodwork and you never just tell anyone no without kicking the tires. So no FAs the last couple days but I believe that's the reason why. Ireland knows how to play hardball when it's a player he's not head over heels in love with.
I don't believe he's willing to pay the players that are left out in FA the $ they want. Having said that every hour and every day that goes by makes them that much cheaper to obtain. Now I know there are a few FAs left that I would love to have on the roster. Eric Winston tops my list. Until Jake Long signs somewhere though everyone else has to wait.
I commend Ireland so far. He spent on what he wanted now he's waiting to get good deals. Not everyone coming to Miami can break the bank so it's time now to be patient and let the man do his thing. I think 2013 is gonna be a playoff year for the Dolphins, I truly do. If not it's probably bye, bye Jeffy so he has some motivation.
Just wanted to type this out before I start into my case of Bud light. Feel free to light me up and pick me apart, if no one did I wouldn't know what to think lol.
