The Miami Dolphins and free agent tight end Dustin Keller ended an extended visit today without reaching a deal. The two sides are said to still be in communication, and could still reach a deal, but the Dolphins are thought to be waiting to see what the tight end market does.
Top tight end Jared Cook signed a five year, $35.1 million contract this week with the St. Louis Rams. The deal includes $19 million in guaranteed money. It also has a $3 million roster bonus for the 2014 season.
This offseason has been busy for the Dolphins, including free agent signings of Mike Wallace, Dannell Ellerbe, and Philip Wheeler this week, as well as re-signing Chris Clemons. The team previously re-signed Matt Moore and Brian Hartline and franchise tagged Randy Starks.
Karlos Dansby and Kevin Burnett were released by the Dolphins this week as well.
