According to NFL Network, free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace is in Miami and is heading to the Miami Dolphins facility. Could he sign a new contract with the Dolphins while there? Stay tuned for more as it's available.
The Miami Dolphins have been listed as the favorite to land free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace for the last few days, or maybe it's weeks now. According to NFL Network, Wallace is expected at the Dolphins' facility in Davie, Florida momentarily.
Wallace spent the first four years of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. During that time, he caught 235 passes for 4,042 yards, with 32 touchdowns. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2011.
NFL free agency started at 4pm ET today, with teams able to immediately begin signing players with expiring contracts.
Miami needs to improve their wide receiver corps this offseason, adding weapons around second year quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Wallace, the top free agent wide receiver on this year's market, would immediately add speed to the Miami roster, and give the team a true number one receiving threat.
Stay tuned here on the Phinsider for more as it becomes available.
[UPDATE]: Wallace is reportedly at the Dolphins facility for his physical. Will sign his contract after the doctors finish with him.
