Yet another mock season...

I normally don’t post anything on these sites, but I am very excited about this off season. I was very disappointed last season because Brandon Marshall was traded and never replaced. If we had some talent at receiver we would have been a playoff team, so this offseason we better do everything possible to become a playoff team NOW.

Wide receiver: Greg Jennings should be the #1 free agent target this off season. He is the best fit for this team. I would re-sign Brian Hartline for what he is worth. If not I would bring in another free agent receiver like Domenik Hixon. I would use pick 3A to draft another receiver. Someone like Da'Rick Rogers or Stedman Bailey.
WR: Jennings, Hartline (or equivalent FA), Bess, 3A , Mathews

Cornerback: I don’t see much value in free agency year, so I look to the draft for corners. I would re-sign Sean Smith for what he is worth. If not I would bring in another free agent like Bradley Fletcher. I would also bring back Dimitri Patterson to compete in camp with Nolan Carroll. In the draft use picks 2A and 2B on corners. I like Desmond Trufant and David Amerson, but again who knows about the draft. DeMarcus Milliner could fall to us at 12.
CB: Marshall, Smith (or equivalent FA), 2A, 2B, Patterson/Carroll

Offensive Line: Jake Long probably won’t be brought back, so we need to address the line in the draft and free agency. In free agency I would try to sign a Guard like Geoff Schwartz. With pick 3B I would draft a Tackle such as Menelik Watson. With pick 5 I would select a Guard like Omoregie Uzzi Basically with these players, we would have an open competition at Right Guard and Right Tackle – with the left side of the line remaining intact.
LT: Martin
LG: Incognito
C: Pouncey, Samuda
RG: Schwartz / 5
RT: Jerry / Yeatman / 3B

Defensive Line: We really need to re-sign Randy Starks, but I would not bring back Tony Mcdaniel. In the draft with pick 1 I would take the best fitting pass rusher. I like Ezekiel Ansah and Alex Okafor, but I think we can trade back to get one of these guys.
DE: Wake, Vernon, Shelby, 1
DT: Soliai, Starks, Odrick, Randall

Running Back: I like Reggie Bush, but I think we need to move on without him. I would bring in another free agent to compete with Daniel Thomas. Thomas has not been durable and he fumbles too much. Someone like Mike Goodson. Goodson played for Sherman at Texas A&M. I would even give Ahmad Bradshaw a shot if he came in with a low risk contract.
RB: Miller, Thomas, Thigpen, FA
FB: Lane

Tight End: Not a lot of upgrades available in free agency, so I would re-sign Anthony Fasano. With pick 4 I would select a TE like Nick Kasa because I don’t think Michael Egnew makes the team.
TE: Fasano, Clay, Egnew / 4

Safety: Re-sign Chris Clemmons. Pick up another safety with pick 7 / UDF such as like Ray Ray Armstrong.
S: Jones, Clemons, Wilson, 7 / UDF

Quaterback: Matt Moore is going to sign somewhere else, so Pat Devlin will be moved up to second string. A third QB will be brought in with pick 7 / UDF such as Jordan Rodgers
QB: Tannehill, Devlin, 7 / UDF

Linebacker: I don’t expect many changes here.
LB: Dansby, Burnett, Misi, Trusnik, Kaddu, Spitler, Freeney

Special Teams: I expect to see some competition for Dan Carpenter, but probably no other changes.
K: Carpenter
P: Field
LS: Denney

Summary: With this type of roster, we have enough veterans to allow some of the younger guys to slowly gain experience. We don’t go too crazy in free agency. We attempt to sign 5 of our own free agents (Starks, Clemons, Fasano, Hartline, Smith), and bring in 3 outside free agents (Jennings, Schwartz, Goodson). This draft may not have a lot of superstars, but there is a lot talent, so we should be able to bring in some quality players.

In the first 3 rounds in no particular order we need the following: WR, OT, 2 CBs, DE
**we will not pick a WR in the first round unless we trade back
Round 4-5 we need a TE and OG The rest of the draft doesn’t matter
What do you guys think?
