But I think that this past year shows the ability of Jeff Ireland as a successful NFL GM. I know a lot of the fan base dislikes him. But I believe a lot of the criticism for some of his draft picks falls on the influence of ex-coach Tony Sparano and ex-VP of football ops Bill Parcells. And if you look at free agents - he has brought some talent to the team. Randy Starks, Kevin Burnett, Reggie Bush, Richie Incognito.
The best draft that he put together was the 2012 draft. I honestly believe that Tannehill is our franchise QB. Then Jonathan Martin, who had an up and down season but progressed as the games went on. Let us see what next year brings. Then Lamar Miller. I believe he is the next big thing in Miami. All of this after Sparano and Parcells.
I think Ireland will have a great off season this year. Putting us in the spot to have 50 mill in cap space, and 5 picks in the first three rounds, and still go 7-9. That doesn't depict a bad GM to me.
I see a future in Miami.
