The Big Letdown! Or Not.....

This is the first of I hope many FanPost covering key players who are near and dear to our hearts.

1st up - MIKE WALLACE

The reason I started with Wallace is due to the fact that he was our most exciting Free Agent signing. Did I mention most expensive! Wallace was brought in to give us that deep threat we've so desperately needed. The addition of Wallace really excited me at the time. I was ecstatic to tell the truth. Maybe just because of the fact that we were doing something big as a franchise. Has it worked out as planned? You tell me.

But now, after almost a full season. How do you feel about the signing now as compared to then?

There are most definitely issues! Some may be scheme/game planning. Some coaching. It could be Tanny under throwing him. Or Tanny holding onto the ball to long. Then throwing the ball late and by throwing it late giving the defender time to close the gap/separation that Wallace had created initially. Might be too many things or just a couple. Let me know what you think.

There's no denying his explosive speed and the respect he gets from defenders.

Wallace does somethings...or better yet, doesn't do somethings that all the big-time receivers do on a regular basis:

1-Not catching the ball at it's highest point. Or how he waits for the ball at it's lowest point. Its like he needs to have the ball hit him right in the hands at his waist. Does not snatch the ball out of the air.

2-Does not fight for contested balls. Not physical. That's ok cause that's not who he is...but somethings are not acceptable. He makes no adjustments to fight or claw his way to the ball.

(ie. the Cromartie interception! Do you remember when Wallace pretty much just stood there and watched Cromartie intercept the ball. Infuriating that he had time to do something...pass interference, kick him, punch him. Do something!)

It seems Wallace has to have the ball hit him right in the hands or the bread basket. Either way this is not the skill set or lack of skill set that I would expect from a 60 million dollar receiver.

It's not all bad with Wallace but a receiver that was supposed to make our offense "EXPLOSIVE" should do the things I brought up earlier...right?

I didn't make this post to bash Wallace. Cause I do like him. Love what he brings to the team. The speed, drawing an extra defender, turning a simple 10 yard slant into a 40 yd TD (wish there were more of those!). I bought his jersey even after I had these issues with him. I also know a lot of things are not his fault. Such as what I spoke of at the top involving the game plan/coaching or Tanny induced issues

No but really, mainly because I'm not an English major and didn't want to get critiqued to death

Alpha put your clothes back on.

So let it be written. So let it be done.

GO DOLPHINS!
