Jets vs Dolphins halftime recap: Miami leads 6-0

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins have completed their first half of play, with the Dolphins leading 6-0 . Join the discussion throughout the game here.

The second quarter started with the Dolphins forcing the Jets in to another punt. On the Dolphins following drive they managed to once again drive in to the Jets end of the field only to have Tannehill hit on a 3rd and 12 forcing an interception with Mike Wallace once again a casual observer. Lucky for the Dolphins their defense stood tall once again forcing the Jets in to another 3 and out.

Following a solid put return by Thigpen the Dolphins started their next drive from their own 48. The Dolphins proceeded to drive down to the Jets one yard-line. Joe Philbin, showing that he's "in it to win it" decided to go for it on fourth down. Unfortunately the Phins once again fail to convert on 4th down and for the second time today turn the ball over to the Jets on downs.

Following the turnover on downs the Dolphins D forced the Jets in to another 3 and out. The Dolphins once again drove deep in to Jets territory but had to settle on a Sturgis 34 yard field goal to give the Dolphins a 3-0 lead. The Jets then started from their 20, completing a few passes before Geno Smith threw yet another interception to Miami linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

Miami took over the ball and with seconds and following the completion of two quick passes brought in Sturgis again for a successful 43 yard field-goal. Despite the score of 6-0 going in to half the Dolphins have totally dominated the Jets to this point gaining 265 yards on offense to only 39 for the Jets.
