Jets vs Dolphins first quarter recap: Game Tied 0-0

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The New York Jets and Miami Dolphins have completed their first quarter of play, with the game tied 0-0 . Join the discussion throughout the game here.

The Dolphins started out strong, driving down the field with Tannehill going 6 of 8 but eventually bogging down on the Jets side of the filed following a sack and a very questionable offensive pass interference call that would have otherwise had the Dolphins first and goal at the 3. After Sturgis missed yet another field goal the Phins turned the ball over to the Jets on their own 31.

The Dolphins defense looked stout on the Jets first drive of the day, forcing them in to a three and out. After once again driving in to Jets territory, the Dolphins went for the first on a 4th and 1 at the Jets 43, only to once again turn the ball over the the Jets on downs. The quarter ends with the Jets having driven down to the Dolphins 38.
