Playoffs...are we talking playoffs!

With a huge win Thursday night, the Miami Dolphins are still relevant in the playoff chase. In my opinion the first 5 spots are pretty much locked down in the AFC (New England, Indy, KC, Denver and Cincinnati seem pretty solid in the playoff chase). That leaves about 4-5 teams with a realistic shot at the 6 seed. By the way the 6 seed is nothing to sneeze at as several prominent teams have made deep runs from that spot. As of now the 6 seed would open at either Indy or Cincy (anyone scared of either of those places?!). I could easily see the Patriots slipping some, but not much off of 11-5 which would still be above where I could see us going.

Here is the breakdown of the teams fighting to get in:

San Diego (4-3): The AFC version of the Dallas Cowboys (great wastes of talent). This season they seem to have put something together. Their main problem is the schedule they have coming up: Denver 2 times, KC 2 times as well as coming to Miami (we hope that ends well for us). They could get hot, but with 4 probable losses and several other tougher games I am hoping for the San Diego team we all know and love to start showing up. My prediction: 7-9 ending for the Bolts.

New York Jets (4-4): It hurts me to put them on the list. They may have the least amount of talent on the list, but the best coaching (that hurts even worse to say). They do play Miami 2 times, New Olreans this week, but other than that the schedule is very soft for the Jets. My prediction (7-9 to 8-8).

Baltimore Ravens (3-4): The choke job to them earlier this year may really hurt us as I see them as the most dangerous threat for the 6 seed. They play Cincy 2 times, New England and Detroit, but other than that it is pretty weak. I think 8-8 to 9-7. Being in a weak AFC North gets them some easier games. Although the Steelers coming on could help some (but we still have to play them also).

There are a few others that could get hot: Buffalo, Tennessee and Pittsburgh could make a run, but I think each has too much of an uphill climb this season.

Miami Dolphins (4-4): We know all our strengths and many weaknesses. Here is a look at Miami's remaining schedule:

•Week 10: at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7)

•Week 11: San Diego Chargers (4-3)

•Week 12: Carolina Panthers (4-3)

•Week 13: at New York Jets (4-4)

•Week 14: at Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5)

•Week 15: New England Patriots (6-2)

•Week 16: at Buffalo Bills (3-5)

•Week 17: New York Jets (4-4)

I think the most probable road for us to make it is winning next 2 games to get to 6-4. Then we have to get the Jets and Steelers for sure. If we can manage at Buffalo that is 10-6 and in the playoffs. If we are going to lose we need it to be to Carolina. To me we must get to 10-6 for a lock, but 9-7 could get in.

Where do you guys see us finishing and do we do enough to get in?
