I know that Sherman and Philbin are like best buds and Sherman is supposed to help RT become a great QB because they were together at Texas A&M, but Sherman's play calling this far into the season has been pretty poor.
Let me start with the run game, which is leading to other problems. First of all, you can't try to run a couple times and then just give up on it. I believe that Miller can be a good running back but just isn't getting enough touches on offense. Let's be honest, having 11 runs compared to 40 passes is just really bad play calling….if we were playing from behind then I could see trying to throw the ball to catch up but we weren't. The lack of even attempting to run the ball allows the defense to just go all out getting after Tannehill.
Another thing that bothers me about Sherman is just how unimaginative his play calling is, half the time I can tell what the call is going to be and thats not good. This offense has loads of talent and a lot of speed. Which leads to me to the disturbing lack of screens that are called. Why not throw a quick screen to Wallace, Thigpen, or even Miller to get some easy yards and also keep the defense honest?
