The 2013 BCS National Championship game will feature the Nick Saban led Alabama Crimson Tide facing Notre Dame. Saban is returning to the scene of hid one time head coaching job with the Miami Dolphins. Saban coached the Dolphins for two seasons, before jilting the team (after repeated assurances that he would remain with the Dolphins in 2007) and heading to Alabama.

Alabama comes into the game with a 12-1 record after having lost to Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies. Meanwhile, Notre Dame made it through the season unscathed, holding a 12-0 record.
