Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE
Last week, we discussed the probability that, no matter the outcome of the AFC Championship game, Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito should be heading to Honolulu to play in his first Pro Bowl, replacing either Baltimore Ravens guard Marshal Yanda or New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins. With the Ravens advancing to the Super Bowl, Incognito has officially been added to the AFC roster.
The Miami Dolphins' 2013 Pro Bowl contingent has officially been increased to three following the AFC Championship game. According to NFL rules, any player from a Super Bowl bound team will be replaced on the Pro Bowl roster. With the Baltimore Ravens win over the New England Patriots last night, Ravens guard Marshal Yanda was removed from the Pro Bowl roster, opening up a space for the top alternate - Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito.
As we pointed out last week, it really did not matter which team, Patriots or Ravens, won in the AFC Championship game, since Patriots guard Logan Mankins is also on the Pro Bowl roster and would have had to be replaced. In the end, all it means is, Incognito is headed to his first Pro Bowl.
Incognito was also named the Dolphins' Good Guy Award winner this season, as well as being named the second dirtiest player in the NFL according to a players' vote.
After last night's game, Incognito tweeted:
Aloha... 1st Pro bowl!!!!

I want to thank my mom and dad for supporting me in everything I've ever done.Without them this is not possible Aloha

Incognito joins defensive end Cameron Wake and long snapper John Denney on the AFC's Pro Bowl roster for the Dolphins. The Pro Bowl will take place this Sunday, January 27, in Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii. Kickoff will be at 7pm Eastern, 2pm Hawaii.
