The NFL today announced the official listing of underclassmen who have been granted "special eligibility" for April's Draft. The 73 players sets a new record, passing last year's 65 players, for underclassmen eligible for the annual selection meeting.
The NFL has released the official list of underclassmen eligible for the 2013 NFL Draft. According to NFL rules, a player who has met the league's three-year eligibility rule, and submits a written application in which he renounces any remaining college football eligibility, may be granted special eligibility for the Draft. This season, 73 players were awarded the clearance for the NFL's annual selection meeting.
The number of underclassmen granted the special eligibility this season surpasses last year record setting 65. The deadline for players to request eligibility was January 15.
