Are you trying to make that last minute fantasy football decision? If you're in your league's championship game, you probably have everything you need already, but maybe you have a tough decision. Are you trying to decide which, if any, Miami Dolphins players you should start or sit? Then, you've come to the right place.
I like Tannehill in this match up, especially the Tannehill we have seen in recent games. The issue is going to be the Dolphins offensive line keeping him upright against the top pass rushing defensive front in the league. If your fantasy league takes points from quarterbacks for sacks, maybe you want to look somewhere else. But, if not, Tannehill should be a consideration if you are starting a second tier quarterback this week.
The Dolphins should commit to the run, which should make Miller a viable RB2 or Flex play this week. But, as usual, playing Miller is a high risk option. Playing Miller is based solely on what other options you have for the position. In Miller's favor is the ankle injury slowing down Daniel Thomas at this point. Miller should get the vast majority of carries this week.
Wallace's production is going up as he and Tannehill get on the same page. He may not be getting the deep, in-stride pass yet, but he is seeing more targets and receptions over the past few weeks. All of the Dolphins passing offense fantasy players have the same issue as Tannehill this week - if the pass rush from Buffalo is slowed by Miami's offensive line, then the fantasy stats for Wallace, and any of the receivers, should be decent this week.
Hartline is a decent option this week in deep leagues. I like Wallace better, so I would go that route first. However, Hartline's production will come down to how the Bills cover Wallace. If they are constantly double teaming the speedster, Hartline should be the beneficiary. Play him in deep leagues, or as a flex option.
Last week, the Patriots made a concerted effort to shut down Clay, and he ended up with just one reception. It was a big reception for the game, but he was not a fantasy producer. Can the Bills do the same thing this weekend? Clay should see a bounce-back game, but, much like Wallace, it all depends on the coverage he sees. New England put a cornerback on him most of the game, with linebacker or safety support. If Buffalo does the same, it could be another disappointing fantasy game for Clay. However, if they don't, the weather conditions could make a intermediate passing game the way to go this week, playing right into Clay's strengths.
At this point, the Dolphins defense is hard to predict. Some weeks, they come out and play like the dominant defense we expected. Some weeks, they simply seem to disappear for stretches in the game, and allow a ton of points. This week, the Dolphins defense should want to get after quarterback Thad Lewis, and the team has a takeaway in every game this season, so they should at least pick up the points there.
