Barring some miracle, that is about what we can expect from the Dolphins (and Jets and Bills). These are mediocre teams that have awful games every now and then. The Jets played an AWFUL game, one of the worst i've seen, and the Dolphins showed that they're not ready to move above .500 by losing to them especially at home. The Patriots would have destroyed the Jets, even if they lost a top player like Bush. I don't know how you bounce back from this, going out to Arizona doesn't help. As I'm writing this... "Dolphins" "Dan Carpenter" and "Joe Philbin" are the top 3 trends on twitter, i'm assuming for the wrong reasons. Watching the Dolphins in the 2000s is painful.
And wow Carpenter...they broke his foot last year. And icing the kicker...it never works, I still have no idea why anyone does it. Carpenter still would have missed it if Rex didn't call a timeout. And the Dolphins might have won if they didn't call one. Oh well.
At least its not all negative...even though the Jets won, most of their fans are still in "what the f---" mode. And you can wonder if the Dolphins have a bright future from it in the QB position. It sucks not having any major weapon to help us get a better idea, but that should come. After last week some may have thought we could've been one of those teams with a rookie QB/HC that can challenge for a playoff spot (Ravens, Falcons, Jets did It). But we're rebuilding and not close enough to having the weapons that those teams had.
I think it seems crystal clear that if Miami gets some help in the secondary and WR in the off-season, we can talk playoffs for 2013. Long wait, but hopefully this 2012 team can at least get to .500.
