Recent Omar Kelly tweets about Nanee are very confusing, can you help me? OmarKelly@ThatDBSwag26 Is there a reason I haven't seen Legedu Naanee at all?" He's in the Tannehill protection program. NO CHEMISTRY. OmarKelly Legedu Naanee has no catches in 2 games. Does that mean he needs to become the fan base's new whipping boy? OmarKellyOmarKelly Miami's one special team TD doesn't happen without Naanee. Your dominance running is assisted by Naanee. But he needs to do more as a WR. OmarKelly I'm VERY aware Dolphins fans have a stiffy right now for Legedu Naanee. Truth is he's not good now, but the witch hunt isn't justified. OmarKelly RT @landonmccool: I can't believe Ireland hasn't hired you as a scout yet… You NAILED that evaluation of Naanee!" I also nailed your momma Ok, so, wow, where to begin? First, the biggest point he makes FOR Naanee was the special teams block for Thigpen's return and yes, that was awesome and did help to spring the return. The play was also possible because of 2 other blocks by other players and, well, yes, Thigpen himself did a nifty job on the return, too. So, yes, Naanee's block was pivotal. His second point FOR Naanee is his assistance in the run game. Now, I've seen some good blocking by him and some not-so-good blocking. So, let's give him the benefit of the doubt and say that Nannee is an above average to good run blocking WR. I'll concede that without even doing a tremendous amount of research. His third point FOR Naanee is that he has ZERO catches in two games, but that doesn't mean Nannee should be the fans' new whipping boy. Well, I also recall a fairly minimal amount of catches by him in the preseason, too, so if you make zero catches in two games and your biggest contribution has been a key block on a return and support during running plays, that makes you a what? A starting WR in the NFL or a fringe WR in the NFL that is hanging on by a thread? As far as whipping boy goes, that's Omar's term, not mine. So, let's get this straight, Omar agrees that Naanee doesn't have chemistry with Tanny, even though he had the entire off season to build that chemistry, that Naanee isn't a good WR now (at the age of 29), and that Naanee has to do more as a WR, but can't understand the negativity toward the player? What does it take for Omar to see that while Naanee may be a cool person and a good special teams player, that doesn't mean we HAVE TO want him on our team. Especially when he was listed as a starter on this team. And, since Omar apparently nails the mothers of those who tweet him, I will inform my mom that an angry Miami Dolphins beat writer may be lurking nearby. Thoughts?
