Now And Then

Hey Phinsiders. In the last few weeks since I've been back, I've noticed on the post about how hard it is not winning. The Raider game gave some hope, but for some, it's not enough. For me, and maybe some of you Old Guard out there, I can still remember with great pride how the Dolphins did win......and win often. It has to be hard as nails to grow up with a non-winning team, not having those memories. For me, its like yesterday, maybe that's what gives me hope for the future. The fact that we did it once (actually twice), It can happen again. I thought it would be neat to take some numbers and show you "Now And Then". For us Old Guard, enjoy the trip down memory lane. You Dolphin fans that don't remember, or in some cases, weren't born yet.......enjoy the history lesson. I encourage all young and new and even us Old Guard to research the history of the Miami Dolphins. We are a bad ass franchise and you need to know that. Be proud of your past and what they have done..............and boys, They'll get it back!

p.s. I'm not using retired numbers, just those numbers still active, and I just give a few examples. Do your research, the names you dig up that share some of the current active numbers are Dolphin History. Look them up, give them respect.

As always Go Dolphins!

Now

Davone Bess, a WR we are hoping for good things.

Then

Earl Morrall, a seasoned vet who stepped in and stepped down with grace.

Now

Reggie Bush. A pure talent, with tons of heart. Becoming a leader.

Then

Mercury Morris. When called upon, he delivered, ran with heart and purpose.

Now

Charles Clay. A hope with some help, but a Dolphin none the same

Then

Paul Warfield. A solid deep threat, and one who set up the running game

Now

Nate Garner. What can he become? Hopefully great

Then

Manny Fernandez. Destroyer. Nuff said.

As part of this post, I encourage you to post your own, "Now And Then" Pictures. Look at who wears the number today and show who wore it in the past. And I have a confession, when a certain QB from Pitt was drafted, I was really upset that he took the number of one of my favorite players as a kid....Jake Scott. #13. I lived with it.........lol.
