Fantasy Key Waiver Wire Pickups Week 3

It's that time again folks! What time you say? It's about 11:00 AM Eastern time. Have a good one!

Just playing! It's time for the Week 3 installment of Key Waiver Wire Pickups! There are some hot names out there on the waiver wire, so pay attention!

Dante Rosario (TE)

I'll start off with an obvious one. Rosario scored THREE TDs on with Antonio Gates sidelined. It's safe to assume that Dante will leapfrog Randy McMichael on the depth chart. As long as Antonio Gates is out, Rosario has high value as a big TD threat for Phillip Rivers. Pick him up and start him if Gates is out next week. If Gates starts, sit Rosario and see how Norv Turner handles what could become a budding TE battle between an oft-injured veteran and a younger, less experienced option. Norv just may decide to give Gates an extended amount of time to get healthy.

Danny Amendola (WR)

That's two games in a row that Bradford has given Amendola plenty of looks. In Week 2, Amendola did not fail to deliver. They appear to have very good chemistry and I would treat Amendola as a solid #2 WR moving forward. Pick him up, this is the type of player that could potentially break out and be on your team for the rest of the season.

Brandon LaFell (WR)

I told you to pick up LaFell last week and sit him to see how much Newton likes him. Well, that's two weeks of evidence that Newton is fond of his #2 option opposite Steve Smith. LaFell is now startable.

Single Game Options

In a pinch? Need a Defense with a good matchup or a kicker with a good matchup this week? Most of the good defenses are taken, but you can try your luck with Cleveland, Indy or even Denver. Denver is a risky move against Houston, obviously, but Houston will try to run the ball and control the clock to keep the ball out of Manning's hands. The fact that Denver is at such high altitude will cause the Houston RBs to wear out quicker than normal. Just something to think about.

As for kickers, Ryan Succop is available in almost every league and he will be matched up against a questionable New Orleans Defense... in a dome. I think I'm going to give him a shot this week as well.

That's it for today. As usual, scour that waiver wire like you snorted bathsalts and it contains a homeless man's face. NEVER be satisfied with your roster!
