Jason La Canfora is reporting that former Packer and free agent Nick Collins hopes to be cleared to play football again. The safety will consult a surgeon next week in hopes that his surgically repaired neck is cleared so he can resume playing football.
Collins, 29, had single-fusion neck surgery in April. A three-time Pro Bowler, Collins had 17 interceptions from 2008-2010 with the Packers.
Peyton Manning‘s recovery from fusion neck surgery will only help Collins as he tries to find a new home. Even though it’s serious a surgery, Collins could draw some interest from other teams, but it’s hard to say if anyone is going to be willing to put him in danger of an even more serious injury.

Should we take a look if he is cleared...he could be a huge stop-gap player this year at S.
