The game against Houston should NOT surprise anyone. They are a far superior team, with a dominating #1 WR, possibly the best RB in the league and a very good veteran QB. Their Defense is one of the best in the league also.
Early in the game – Ryan made some nice throws and bush was moving the chains also. We ran the ball pretty well, which is a credit to bush and the OL. But – The OL did a poor job of pass blocking, getting RT beaten up in the pocket, and hurried - far too much. Jake Long again had a below average game (12 mill per year) and rookie RT Martin was not very good either. Also several holding penalties too. But the worst group of DOLPHINS has to be the WR group…They were simply terrible, for most of the game.
It’s time to go out and get at least TWO – yea…2 new WR’s for this team. There are several VET WR’s out there – and I don’t want to hear about "saving money due to guaranteed contracts"…Marlon Moore, doesn't deserve to be on the field at WR….Naanee ? horrible He can’t get open…Bess is a #3 option and played very well – but he is not a “difference maker” Hartline finally got on the field and helped – but why not earlier ? Can we count on him after his injury-filled preseason ? I doubt it. Anthony Armstrong is a HUGE (laughing) 5’11” and 179…. (Bess is 10 lbs heavier if that tells you something) While he should help – he is not enough by a long shot…. At TE, Fasano is just above average, and Clay is still dropping passes…(some hope for him though) but he is not much of a blocker.
Let’s get some help on the field ! Can we AT LEAST BRING IN SOME GUYS TO LOOK AT…
Greg Camarillo – never drops the ball, and don’t tell me he’s is not better than Moore and Naanee. Maurice Stovall – Deion branch – way better at his age than our current trash…
Mardy Gilyard – preseason 9/151 yds and 2 TD’s
From the PACKERS cut list –
Diondre Borel – preseason 7/48 and Tori Gurley – 6’4” 232…3/75 yds
I really like both of the Packers WR's and either would be a better development player than what we have. I would also bring up Chris Hogan from the practice squad...
Just try something - lets not keep going into battle with this current crop of wide receivers.
