I am as a big a Dolphins fan as anyone. I support my team game by game, and have followed all of the off-season and pre-season coverage.

This has to be one of the worst fan bases in the country. Everyone is constantly on a rant about how bad the team is, how much they hate Ireland, Philbin lacks the HC credentials etc...Even Omar Kelly, a MIAMI DOLPHIN beat writer can't stand the team he covers...it's all backwards.

1. Ireland: I am really liking him lately. He is cut throat. He is an NFL GM. He saw the opportunity to unload Vontae for a 2nd and 6th* and hopped on it. When else would this be a bad move? He wasn't standing out as the player we need, and the same fan base keeps complaining about having fewer picks in the draft each year. You want to build a franchise that models the Patriots, you need to use picks wisely. This 2nd rounder might end up being a WR...sit tight. Ireland shouldn't console players who are being released, he should simply pull the band-aid off and move on. He can't be a counselor. He is evaluating the talent at WR now. Be patient. Of course we want the next Jerry Rice, but hell...it's not like Antonio Brown was a known "name" 2 years ago...now you'd all sell your soul for him. WRs are hit/miss flukes. There are not many which last more than a few years at the same production levels. I hope they keep him around for another 5 years.

2. Philbin: Give the guy a chance. Sparano was an idiot. He couldn't run a team, he couldn't evaluate talent. You all sit back and say Philbin isn't doing a great job. Let's thank the world we dont have Ocho, Matt Flynn's contract, and we aren't one hit away from Peyton Manning. He is commanding his locker room and seems to have people on board, less for a few veteran players. That;s to be expected...Vets have been around, some of which have tasted success. They will get in line sooner than later...at the end of the day they all love to play football and last I checked, the real season hasn't started yet.

3. Miami is a bigger market than they think they are. In order to get names in house, you need to class up the organization. They look very good on Hard Knocks, running a tight ship. Tannehill is the face we need to lead this team. Davone Bess is going to be excellent, and yes...Hartline will play again, but he's dinged up. Let's wait this out a bit. It doesn't take much to make this team a 9-7 squad.

Root for your damn team. Get excited for new players to break out. We are in denial this is a 65% rebuilding year.

If Ted Ginn Jr ends up catching 8 TD for SF - I would bet any amount this site would have tons of people saying how stupid the phins were for letting him go etc... hind sight is always 20/20.
