For those of you giving Ireland a pass for the Parcells years, are you also going to not give him credit for the Philbin/Sherman influence? In other words, the drafting of Tannehill and the possible additions of Lane/Fuller (Sherman coached them) and the rejection of Flynn (Philbin) were transactions that took place under Ireland’s time, but certainly were heavily influenced by Sherman and Philbin. I know Ireland was interested in Tannehill before Sherman and Philbin were brought in, but I have serious doubts as to whether we would have drafted Tannehill if it weren’t for Sherman and, in fact, we probably would have ended up with Flynn.

I know this is all speculation, but that’s the game we play on these blogs, anyhow, so - how much credit are you going to give Ireland if Tannehill, Lane, and Fuller all work out and Flynn is a bust? Discuss amongst ourselves.
