Before I made this post I wanted to watch the game again before making the typical knee jerk reaction. Here is what I found the second time around watching the game.
Moore played better than numbers suggest.
Here is his body of work from last night.
First Drive - was taking the team down the field with some good throws and pace and running. Hit a snag when Bush had a great 1st down run followed up by a lose on 2nd with a drop by Ocho on 3rd down. So all things being considered not much negative to say about Matt on this drive. Oh yeah and a missed FG so no points added.
Second Drive - starting around the 20 he hit three straight passes to move the team to mid field. This was followed by a Martin false start, a 1st down gain of 6 yrds to Thomas and a 2nd down run (which probably should have been checked out of) for a loss, 3rd and 11 didn't get anything. Punt followed.
Third Drive - good starting position from Matthews return. Moore hit Wallace for a nice gain followed with a ball batted at the LOS for a INT.
So the major concern was 0 points with 2 of 3 drives going into the other teams side of the field. Overall the drives were stalled by the team making mistakes (dropped ball, False Start penalty and INT). The ball moved and that is what I found good, the finish wasn't there and mental errors cost the Dolphins.
The more things change the more they stay the same
The secondary was terrible .. Sean Smith the great practice player went into old habits of sucking under the lights with poor safety play.
Brandon Marshall the one with poor hands and off field altercations .. enter Ochocinco err Chad Johnson.
Three Players who caught my attention NOT named RT17 and who get no pub.
1. Reggie Bush - only played the first series but looked great doing so, had a could of decent runs being the first series and all.
2. Koa Misi - in a new position and making the biggest change in the new defence he never looked out of place and was in place to make many tackles (although missed one). Felt his prescence on the field .. now if only we can move him to the secondary hmmm haha
3. Rishad Matthews and B.J. Cunningham - the easy thing to say is JP and Roberto Wallace but I went a little deeper .. the two late round draft pics played well when there name was called. Looking like they could stick around on the practice squad with a slim chance of cracking the 53.
No need to knee jerk over what happened here .. would rather see them such now than have crazy one handed INTs in the endzone and then disapear come the start of the season ... SS24
So what are your thoughts .. other than the fact Tannehill should start next week against Carolina so we can see him against the 1s because that is too easy
