Can Miami Dolphins wide receiver Roberto Wallace claim the third position on the Miami depth chart heading into the season?
The Miami Dolphins' wide receiver corps is one of the most discussed groups on the team right now. After trading away Pro Bowl MVP Brandon Marshall this offseason, the Miami receivers have been called one of the worst groups in the league. However, the Miami coaching staff and front office seem comfortable with the position right now, and they are not in an rush to add another player to the mix.
Currently, the Dolphins have Brian Hartline and Davone Bess as the top two wideouts. The two seem to be entrenched in those positions, and should hold their starter status to begin the season (assuming the unknown injury that has kept Hartline sidelined during practice lately is not serious).
The question is, which of the myriad of players behind those two will emerge to claim the third slot? Currently on the Miami roster are rookie B.J. Cunningham, rookie Jeff Fuller, Clyde Gates, Chris Hogan, rookie Rishard Matthews, Marlon Moore, rookie Derek Moye, Legedu Naanee, Julius Pruitt, and Roberto Wallace.
