The Miami Dolphins today announced they had waived reserve running back Richard Medlin. Medlin had been a practice squad member with the Dolphins last season, moving up to the active roster before the team's Week 17 game.

With the waiving of Medlin, the Dolphins currently have seven running backs remaining on the roster. They are Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, Lamar Miller (R), Steve Slaton, Jerome Messam, Marcus Thigpen, and Jonas Gray (R). Bush rushed for over 1,000 yards for the Dolphins last season.

Miami has 88 personnel on the roster. They are authorized 90.

Medlin was signed originally by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in August 2011, before being released and picked up by the Dolphins in September. He played his college football at Fayetteville State, a Division II college. He had 1,949 rushing yards in three years at Fayetteville State.
