Lets compare the Miami Dolphins to the New England Patriots

I am so tired of the media ripping on our team, because they seem so dang ignorant. Minutes ago I hear Charly Casserly say that the Dolphins arent as talented as the Jets were when they drafted Mark Sanchez. Are you kidding me? They had an average-good Defense and a less than average Offense. So when you compare the Dolphins and the Patriots how do we stack up? Well lets find out (just so you know, I'm winging this so I don't exactly know yet).

Miami: QB- Matt Moore, David Garrard: 6.5 (out of 10):

If this is based on last years play, it would be at about 7.5 or 8, but we have a new head coach, and a new type of offense, I believe 6.5 out of 10 is worst case scenario, and it could possibly be up to 8.5, I view Matt Moore as a winner, and a good QB (not great though).

New England: QB- Tom Brady: 10

What can I say?

Miami: RB- Reggy Bush, Daniel Thomas, Lamar Miller: 10

None of these players are individualy a 10, but the roles all of these player play make a 10.

New England: RB- Danny Woodhead?: 7 (at best)

They dont have much...

Miami: TE- Micheal Egnew, Charles Clay, Anthony Fasano: 8.5 (at worst)

All of these guys together, can do it all, even in 2 TE sets

New England: TE- Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernandez: 10

Who are we kidding?

Miami: WR: Davon Bess, Brian Hartline, Legadu Naanee, Rookie: 7

Again, this 7 could easily be a 9 depending on how these players play in the WCO, or maybe B.J. Cunningham or Jeff Fuller becomes a star? I liked both of those guys. We'll see how it plays out.

New England: Wes Welker, Deon Branch, Brandon Loyd: 9

This 9 could easily be a 6 or 7 if they use Brandon Loyd like they used Chad Ochocinco. Maybe New England is where good deep threat WR's go to die?

Miami: OL- Jake Long, Richie Incognito, Mike Pouncy, John Jerry, Jonathan Martin: 9.5

Jerry at RG is the only weak link, and we dont even know if he is going to be bad yet, if not we still have other potential RG's and one should be able to step up to make it a 9, 9.5 or 10.

New England: OL- Nate Solder, Logan Mankins, Dan Koppen, Brian Walters, Sebastian Vollmer: 7

Solid, but you saw what the Giants did to them...

Now onto Defense:

Miami: DL- Cameron Wake, Paul Solai, Tony McDaniels, Oliver Vernon: 8.5

This 8.5 could easily be a 10 if Vernon plays vell enough to free up Wake and get some sacks.

New England: DL- Chandler Jones, Vince Wilfork, Kyle Love, Jonathan Fanene: 8

This 8 could be a 7 or 6 depending on if Jones lives up to expectations, but if he plays as well as Wake then it's still only an 8.

Miami: LB- Carlos Dansby, Kevin Burnette, Koi Misi: 9

I honestly think that if Misi plays well, then this is one of the best LB cores in the league, I think Dansby is elite, and Burnette is close.

New England: LB- Brandon Spikes, Donta Hightower, Jarod Mayo: 9.5

Less contraversy at a position then us with Misi, but Hightower could bust?

Miami: CB- Vonta Davis, Sean Smith, Richard Marshall: 9

This could be a 10 if Sean Smith performs well, but Marshall could step in and make Smith play Nickle if it makes us better.

New England: CB- Kevin Arrington, Devin McCourty, Will Allen: 6.5

No real stars, Arrington's good but not amazing, same with McCourty, but no certanty at Nickle CB position

Miami: S- Tyrell Johnson, Reshad Jones/ Chris Clemons/ Jimmy Wilson (dark horse?): 6

This is a position of contraversy for the fins, no real certanty and alot of young guys, but a 6 is worst case scenario, we could find a star in the dark possibly, still not a 9 or 10 but could be up to an 8.

New England: S- Patrick Chung, Steve Gregory: 8

Chung is really good, and Gregory is solid, overall 8, maybe 9.

Overall if you add up the points the Dolphins have a total of 74 points and the Patriots have a total of 75. Wow I didnt expect it to be that close honestly, I thought to prove maybe 5 or 6 behind but 1? I'm pretty sure alot of people think I'm off, but still it can't be that much off where were more than 7 points behind. In conclusion, I believe we are a playoff team next year, and that the media is full of crap. Next year, when we make the playoffs and everyone is suprised just like with the 49ers last year, I will be laughing at all of the "experts". Skeptics, laugh at me now, but at the end of the season, I will find you (phinsider name) and I will make "I told you so" fanshots, especially dedicated to how unjustfully pesamistic you were, and then you will say "wow, that 15 year old kid made me look like an idiot :l". But of course If we do make the playoffs next year, I dont think you will be mad :)

GO FINS!!!!!!!
