Dolphins re-sign Merling, Murtha
The Miami Dolphins announced that two of their restricted free agents have signed their respective tender offers. Defensive lineman Phillip Merling, a second-round pick in 2008, signed his tender offer, as did offensive tackle Lydon Murtha. Merling has 3.5 career sacks with the Dolphins, as well as one interception and one touchdown. Murtha has been with the Dolphins since 2009 when he was signed off the Detroit Lions practice squad.
