Miami Dolphins Starting Quarterbacks Since Dan Marino

The Miami Dolphins have been a snake-bit franchise ever since Dan Marino retired following the 1999 season. In the 12 seasons since, the Dolphins have used 16 different starting quarterbacks. No one has really been able to solidify the starting position for Miami. But, now there is hope on the horizon. The Dolphins are considered the favorite to land Peyton Manning following his release from the Indianapolis Colts.

The Dolphins are also seen as having the inside track to get soon-to-be free agent Matt Flynn from the Green Bay Packers. New Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin was Green Bay's offensive coordinator the previous six seasons.

Add in that the Dolphins know draft prospect Ryan Tannehill better than any other team in the league, since Tannehill's college head coach, Mike Sherman, is now the Miami offensive coordinator; plus the Dolphins have connections to Baylor University, with alumnus Jeff Ireland, Miami's general manager, and, therefore, connections to Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III.

This really could be the year the Dolphins find a quarterback. Could the Dolphins fittingly find an answer in the 13th year after #13 retired?

With that in mind, it's time to take a look back at the 16 men to start at least one game behind center for the Dolphins.
