The Nonsens Behind Tanking a Season

I think this has been a trending since last season. What if the team tank the season so they can get (Insert desired rookie QB) in the next draft bye getting a high pick.

Well it is true that if the team goes 3-13 or worse we will be picking in the top 5. I have no arguments against that nor about the fact that that would increase the possibility to take a "Franchise QB".

But what revolves around been a 3-13 team is what bothers me a lot. Not only the fact that I would be going nuts looking the team lose week in-week out. But to think what has to go wrong for that to happen.

For me It's easy take for example the 2007 (a year everyone wants to forget) what happened with that team. The D finally got caught by the age, the O has nothing to offer, we were playing with 3rd stringers, the overall talent in that team was awful. But I never saw the team quit. Why?

Fans where intrigued by the idea of getting Matt Ryan, didn't happen, but at the time it was enticing to get a "Franchise QB". But the team never wanted to be in that position, we suffered like crazy lose after lose and the team celebrated with everything when the only win came. But that team was capable of no more they gave everything and got only 1 win.

What happened after? The axe. Chopping heads everywhere, GM, HC, Coords, players. Teams don't wanna lose because their jobs, reputations and pride is on the line if they fail miserably. Every time we say the team must suck to get a nice position in the next draft we are disrespecting the team itself because we are thinking they don't even care about being losers.

Maybe we as fans may support this idea since we have nothing in the line, only our hearts as fans. We may think it will serve a "greater purpose" aka "franchise QB". But the people playing and in the FO have things on the line a contract , an extension, families, their jobs. I know you probably will tell me if they get 1 or 2 M less will do nothing to them, well tell that to them.

So I cannot believe any team tanking a season and I hope fans understand why tanking a season has some nonsense itself and why rooting for it could become really controversial.

In the end I know everyone in here wants a winning team year in year out. But loosing to win seems to illogical itself.
