Building a dynasty

Peyton Manning has taught me one thing. No matter what they say MONEY TALKS. As we entered this whole process the talk was team friendly contract that would pay 10-15 mil a year. Even though I don't see that as friendly for an old possibly broken down QB I was still foaming at the mouth. To have a Hall of fame QB again even if just for a few years. Apparently that was a crock of brown stuff because now 3 years $65 million won't get it done.

So that got me thinking how is it possible to roll out a winner when 1/6 of your salary cap is tied into one player even if it is the quarterback.

Then I took a look at our perennial rival and always a playoff contender New England Patriots. 2011 Sal Cap # from Sports City Brady 13, Mayo 5.1, Ellis 5.0, Mankins 4.8 and Wilfork 4.6

Now look at Miami's top players for 2011. Solia 12.3, Long 11.2, Marshall 10.6, Dansby 6.7, Bell 5.2

Not one of our high paid players is worth anywhere close to what we're paying. We're missing out on value for our $$$$

We don't need to look for big name free agent signings... we need value players and draft picks that produce. I'm starting to change my mind about Ireland's boring off season so far. What do you think?
