We aren't getting Peyton and the sky isn't falling!

I know I will probably get a bunch of hate for this but, hear me out. Peyton has been a great QB I know. I pretty much have to watch him every week as I live about an hour from Lucas Oil. His fans are so obnoxious with all his accomplishments. Which are very impressive, however his playoff record is not so impressive. The Colts have won for years by building big leads and out gunning people. When the games have been meaningful (playoffs) and they need a drive or a score Peyton has choked. With exception to 2006 when they won it all.

Would I settle for an offense that looked like the 2006 Colts? Absolutely! However this is 2012, Peyton is 36 and has had 4 F-O-U-R neck surgeries. Ouch! This guy is not going to be the same as he has been in the past. What happens when he gets hit?

Remember Chad Pennington? Yeah we had a great year, woo hoo. We need a QB that can lead our franchise for the next 10 years. Maybe that is Flynn or maybe Tannehill, I don't know. I do know it isn't Peyton Manning. He has maybe 3 years left if he is lucky.

Peyton Manning is set in his ways. It is reported he wants to bring Reggie Wayne (Old), Jeff Saturday (Old) and maybe others from the old Colts team. We don't need someone who thinks they are bigger than the team or smarter than our staff. Sorry Peyton still isn't 22 anymore.

So listen "This isn't Steve Ross' defining moment" sorry it isn't that big.

One last point: Peyton doesn't want to come to Miami. How many when interviewing for a job go to the job they would least like first? Do you save the job you really hope you get for last? Yeah I don't either.

Now if he does choose Miami I would support him whole heartedly and I would hope for the best. I just don't think it is likely. The future in Miami is very bright despite being spurned by Harbaugh, Fisher and now Manning.

They just weren't worthy!
