There may never be another Dolphins player quite like Ricky Williams. Talented. Controversial. Cerebral. Introspective. Independent. At times hard to figure. But always hard to tackle.

armando is wayyyy offf
green bays system and Indy’s were not that different. They both depend on getting the ball out fast and beating teams with good reads and hot routes. i am sure that whatever system Philbin instills Peyton can pick up fast. Maybe not quite as fast as Flynn for the obvious reasons, but still.

God I hope we can knock the Jets out of the playoffs, I couldn't imagine despising a team and fan base more.
Go Dolphins!
So... what are the obvious reasons
I agree with all you say except that Flynn would pick it up faster. I believe mannings experience and football acumen would make it pretty easy for him to grasp any changes.

obvious reason being that he has played in the system his whole career

IMO
I’d rather Flynn because he knows the system, and could be out quarterback for years to come. Manning is 36 he’s probably got 2 years at best and then it’s back to the search for another quarterback, so I’d say bring Flynn in, and draft Tanehill or Foles to develop behind him in worse case scenario the back up can take snaps.

Wowwwww
just when I thought i Armando couldn’t get any stupider he spouts off an article like that. One line in there really popped out as idiotic, he said “knowing the Dolphins like I do” Really is that so? you know everything there is to know about how they run their business? Well if that were true don’t ya think you’d know that this team pretty commonly uses smokescreens to hide their true intentions? I guess because they said they really want Manning they are definitely going to get him right? just like theyre all so happy with the play of Gibril Wilson right? I mean its possible but this is the season of misdirection and anything they put out there should be taken with a grain of salt. How that guy became a journalist I will never know.
Yeah, Armando is way off base here.
It is like he can’t grasp the idea that teams can build both for the present and the future at the same time. He also can’t fathom incentive laden contracts.
Why can’t we have Manning and draft Tannehill in the 2nd or Oswieller in the 3-4? Why can’t we try to get in the playoffs and maybe reach a SB with Manning while we have talent around him and also build a QB for future success? It isn’t like Philbin has any experience in that (sarcasm).
I actually see less risk in Manning than I do Flynn. Flynn will come with a 5-6 year contract. If he doesn’t pan out, then we are crippled for that long. Manning will likely be a 3 year deal with heavy roster bonuses or incentives. If he gets injured or doesn’t have it anymore, he doesn’t meet the incentives and gets cut. If they bring Flynn in, then they aren’t drafting a QB early. With Manning, they will almost certainly do that.
i've been waiting for this moment all my life...but it's not quite right.
agree with this...
worst case scenario if we bring in Manning, draft a stud RT, draft a QB, and Manning gets hurt or cant play anymore. Well, we have Matt Moore to come in relief and now we have a better OLine that can give any QB a better chance to develop and improve. The decision seems simple to me.
