Wednesday Night Random Thread:Best Case Scenario At QB Edition

GREEN BAY, WI - DECEMBER 11: Aaron Rodgers #12 of the Green Bay Packers throws a pass against the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field on December 11, 2011 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Jonathan Daniel/Getty Images)

For the most part the one thing that is we can all come to agreement on here at the Phinsider is that we need improved play and numbers from the starting QB position. Be it improvement of one of our current players or from a drafted new guy or even the free agent signing of a big name QB that we all assume will come free very soon. this of course leads me to our question of the night and........wait for it..........even a poll. I know, your excited!

Star-divide

So my question is if you could have literally any QB you wanted starting for the Dolphins next season who would it be? It does not have to be someone that is available, just someone that is still playing or will be playing in the NFL next season.

Either Aaron or Cam

That would be awesome. Probably Aaron though because of his relationship with Philbin.

Draft Riley Reiff with the 8/9 spot to protect Peyton Manning.

Then draft either Tannehill in the second round or Osweiler in the third round to learn behind Manning. If we go with Osweiler in the third (which I am leaning towards since he has the strongest arm in the draft, but is very raw so could use a few years behind Manning) then sign a sick TE in the second. Fleener if he’s available when we pick. Sign Robert Mathis as our pass rusher.

3rd round: Brock Osweiler

by Phinsphana on Feb 8, 2012 9:06 PM EST up reply actions

There is no way that Ingram makes it out of the first round.

I doubt he’ll even be available outside of the top 15 picks. It’s been reported we have Robert Mathis in our sights in FA. That would be a better idea.

Henne is the anti-Eli. He can put up as many numbers as you want (not really but for sake of argument) but in the 4th Quarter when it counts. When you have to have that game winning drive, Chad Henne has and will always fold.

How many 4th quarter interceptions can one guy have?

Well...

He never had a running game last year or in his 4 games this year. Probably could’ve beaten the Pats if the defence wasn’t so terrible that game. Give him a right side of the o-line and I think he’ll be a different player. He showed too much improvement this year to give up on him. He really had a tough job adding 5 new pieces to the offence and a new o-coordinator in very little time.

4 Votes for Chad Henne?

Seriously? and no votes for Dan Marino to come back?

We had [Brady] down… but we didn’t kick him. We helped him up and gave him a PowerPuff Girls band-aid for his knee. What exactly did you expect would happen when we did that?

It does not have to be someone that is available, just someone that is still playing or will be playing in the NFL next season.

How about Devlin?

I know a lot of you are likely NFL bigots that don’t watch a ton of college ball, so I’d like to point out that Pat Devlin should at least get a serious evaluation by the new coaching staff. He broke some passing records in PA, set by QBs such as Marino, Montana, and Namath to name just a few. In the minds of many, he should have been a two-year starter at Penn State, but ended up transferring to Delaware (does the name Flacco ring a bell?) where he had two solid years and took the Blue Hens to a championship game. I think before the Dolphins go spend a fortune (in dollars or draft picks) on someone else with no guarantee of success, that they should at least give him a good look.

by cdwhnj on Feb 9, 2012 12:55 AM EST via mobile reply actions
