Football Withdrawal

It's beginning to set it. You notice the drop sweat dripping down the side of your face, as a case of the shakes and spins are setting in. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, the seasons flashes before your eyes. 0-1, 0-2, 0-3, 0-4. No more! 0-5, 0-6, 0-7. Stop! I can't take it anymore. Gotta get some air. Wait a second. This isn't all that bad. There's no lockout this year. Free agency begins next month, followed by the draft. There's plenty to do to keep my addiction fulfilled. Wait, free agency starts in.... a month. Wh....What am I going to do until then?

Oh I know, I'll speculate and investigate. Rumor mill time. Headline "Peyton in Miami." I can see it now. Manning wearing his Lebron James jersey telling the press he is bringing his talents to South Beach as he winks. That's only the beginning. Marshall catches110 passes and tallies 10+ TDs. Davone Bess crowned as the best slot receiver in the game. Oh wait that's Welker. NOT! Without Brady, Welker was average (we should know). Without Welker, Brady was still amazing. Give us a franchise QB and let's see how our receivers fare.

Next, I will knock on wood as I say this, but I don't believe Bush repeats. Not because he isn't talented though. I believe he struggles to stay healthy. In comes Daniel Thomas as he shows us some more of what we saw in the beginning of the season.

Finally, these are my predictions for our record next year based on who our potential QB will be.

Predictions:

Manning (12-4) A healthy Manning combined with our roster warrants this record.

Moore (9-7) If Moore starts all season, I believe this is what our record would've been and will be next year as well.

Flynn (8-8) With so little known about Flynn, I thought 8-8 was fair.

RG3 (7-9) If we pull off RG3 and start him, he goes through typical rookie woes.

Phew, I made it. I'll be back writing some more the next time my withdrawals kick in.

I like your projections,

although, I feel like Moore and Flynn would be flip floppped unless we address the RT position.

Moore could get us 10+ wins with a little more help from the OLine. I feel that witha strong OLine, Flynn could do the same (assuming that we run the same offiense that he is used to from GB).

Manning does immediatly make us a super bowl contender as well if we address the RT position.

If we switch to a 4-3, I see our wins going down a little. The defense is very good right now and I only wish that we could stick withthe game plan and contineu to improve.

God I hope we can knock the Jets out of the playoffs, I couldn't imagine despising a team and fan base more.

RG3 could take us to 10-6 IMO

He’s got smarts and accuracy,the two ingredients fr a successful west coast offense quarterback

i agree that he has those things,

but historically, rookie QBs dont fare so well in their first season.

…but historically, 1-15 teams don’t make the playoffs the next year…

I love the optimism of FinFans...

I stopped buying into the “Its our year” hype about 8 or 9 seasons ago. Like most other fans, I simply want the fins to do well and win a championship. But after too many seasons of mediocrity, I went from being the eternal optimist to a realist. I guess it’ll continue that way until the team proves otherwise. :(
