What do we think of Brian Hoyer?

Brian Hoyer is a name we haven't really kicked around here yet. I just re-read his scouting report and he is really intriguing. 6"2, 215, Michigan State, played in a pro style offense. What stuck out to me in the scouting report (ESPN Scouts Inc) is that he has a very quick release, very smart, good in the pocket, excellent touch and velocity. This is before spending three years in the Patriots system.

Here's a bit on accuracy:
He displays very good touch and timing as a passer. Knows how to lead his receivers and change velocities. Shows ability to drop the ball in between linebacker and safety down the middle. Will occasionally struggle to throw accurately on attempts that require extra zip typically intermediate and outside the numbers. But he sees the entire field and does not lock onto primary target. Shows good overall footwork; drives off his back leg and follows through on his throws. Also throws accurately on the run both ways.

very very

intriguing although not my 1st, 2nd or 3rd option..i dont think he stands a shot with us although he’ll probably end up winning super bowls with someone else knowing our luck..

I think he is a Restricted free agent so he isn't going anywhere unless he isn't worth keeping to New England.

NY Jets = NFL's Chicago Cubs

There's a fine line between hopeful and desperate. Just look @ Jets fans.

It could be an interesting case...

Mallet show more than enough in last post season to be the Brady’s successor in NE… if not this year, so Hoyer could fine new home for next season, but I don’t think it will be in Miami… but who knows, he could be a good under radar QB FA.
