Miami Dolphins News You May Have Missed - 2/5/12
Here are the Miami Dolphins news stories from around the web you may have missed over the last 24 hours:
Dolphins Quarterbacks:
Miami Dolphins: Is Peyton Manning the best Dolphins risk? - South Florida Sun-Sentinel.com
The Miami Dolphins' options are Peyton Manning, Matt Flynn and Robert Griffin III. The only certainty is the decision will decide this regime's fate.
Dolphins Defense:
Super Bowl should convince Dolphins about pass rushers
The easy thing to discuss in explaining the gap between the Dolphins and a Super Bowl team is by saying the quarterback play isn't good enough in Miami. Well, duh.
ProFootballWeekly.com - Dolphins ready for transition to 4-3 defense
The Dolphins will experience some personnel changes on defense under Kevin Coyle, but their aggressive style should remain.
Former Dolphins:
Hall of Fame snubs Bill Parcells but ex-Miami Hurricanes star Cortez Kennedy earns induction
South Florida will be represented at August's Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Just not by Bill Parcells.
2012 NFL Draft:
Robert Griffin III says he is best QB prospect in NFL draft - Don Banks - SI.com
There may or may not be any significance in the order Gatorade brought the NFL draft's top two quarterback prospects to the Super Bowl this week -- Andrew Luck first, on Thursday, and Robert Griffin III second, on Friday -- but that's certainly not the order Griffin is resigning himself to in terms of how events will unfold in late April's first round.

My favorite quote
“Whatever Jim Irsay decides, whether it’s, ‘Hey, it’s time for [Manning] to move on, or we want you to come back,’ I can’t control that,” Griffin said. "I’ve never met Jim Irsay. I’ve met Peyton, and I told him if I get the honor to play with him, I’d love it. I hope he gets to play as long as he wants to, wherever he wants to.
“It wouldn’t be a burden to play behind him with the Colts. Nothing in life is a foregone conclusion, so Peyton could be here this year. If the Colts decided to draft me to learn from him and be the future down the road, that’s a win-win for me, because Peyton’s a legend and he knows what it takes to win and to be great. I would love to learn from a guy like that.”
I really want RG3 and I think he needs to start right away but I would be more than ok with him sitting and learning from Peyton, in a Dolphins uniform of course. :)

I could very well see it
But the more probable would be a trade down and draft Tannehill.

No way that happens.

Trading down and drafting Tannehill?
Why couldn’t that happen?

Sorry! I was still following agents logic of Manning and RG3.

Yeah it does not line up the same way on the phone. Sorry brother.
So damn confusing.

Both?
Highly unlikely. Gimme RGIII, a high round tackle, a pass rusher, a project CB and safety in the draft and I’m good. Pick up another CB and pass rusher in FA. That’s a good enough foundation for me this year, play patchwork in the draft next year. Great coaches (which I think we have a few of on staff now) can make so so players into pro bowlers.

There's something about JT's tweets the other day.
I would love to resign him and then sign Vince Curry in the 2nd to cover our pass rushing position.
nah JT is done
